Peking Duck

 

Beijing Duck is the most famous food when talked about Beijing. Its well know for the crispy skin and rich taste. Beijing Duck has a long history from Yuan dynasty. It used to imperial food before.Beijing Duck will be served as pieces of meat with more skin with little meat with sweet bean source. The most famous restaurant for Beijing Duck is Quanjude.

Imperial Court Food

 

Imperial Court Food is the food served to emperors or emperor family in old time. In old China, citizens cannot have the Imperial Court Food at home. However, after Qing Dynasty, more and more restaurants runs emperors food and tastes really familiar. Around Forbidden City, there are many small restaurant supply imperial court food.

 

 

Zhajiangmian

 

Zhajiangmian is noodle without soup but mixed with special sauce. Beijing zhajiangmian contains stir-fried pork, handmade noodles, vegetable and soy sauce. Zhajiangmian suits every seasons a year, vegetables may vary in different season but taste same.

 

 

Fried Liver (Chao Gan)

 

Chao Gan is a local snack since Song Dynasty. It is cooked with pork’s livers and intestines with garlic, soy and other ingredients.It eats with steamed baozi originally in breakfast, but now it severs every time. There even lots of restaurants serve Chao Gan for the major food now.

 

 

Quick-Fried Tripe (Bao Du)

 

Bao Du is a famous local food in Beijing. Its cooked with tripes of cattle in slice and stirred with vinegar, soy sauce, peper oil, scallion and other ingredient. It is always servers as snack, especially when people drinking beers.
